Dustin’s Way Collective is a North Carolina based full service digital storytelling agency. Dustin’s Way was established as a way to honor Aaron’s late brother, Dustin, who passed away in 2001 at age 12. We choose to tell Dustin’s story and choose to look at life the way Dustin did; not taking a single day for granted, and valuing the relationships with each person we come in contact with. On Dustin’s 30th birthday, January 21st 2019, Dustin’s Way Collective was officially launched. To learn more about Dustin’s legacy and what Dustin’s Way Collective is built on, check out this video. AARON CONNER

Aaron is a Husband, Father, Believer, and Storyteller.

Aaron firmly believes in the power of people. Relationships are the cornerstone of Aaron’s professional philosophy. During Aaron’s time at Appalachian State, he developed a passion for storytelling through film and photography. After buying his first camera and diving in to the industry head first, Aaron accepted a position with the Appalachian State Football Video Staff creating content year-round during his time as a student. Fortunate to have the chance to learn from and work alongside some of the best minds in the business, Aaron learned what it meant to truly turn passion into a way of life.

After advancing to serve as the Director of Video Production for Appalachian State Football as a Senior, Aaron began forming relationships in other industries beyond athletics. Developing a passion for the music and outdoor industries, Aaron took his skillset into the professional workforce in 2014 to begin building his business and forming relationships. Aaron is thankful for the many opportunities to tell stories alongside great clients, and looks forward to discussing how to bring your next project to life!

ANDY UPTON

Andy is a Dreamer, a Theorist, an Outdoorsman, and a Father.

Andy has been an entrepreneur from the age of fifteen when he started a Detailing company and later a Landscaping company. When in high school Andy was captain of the Varsity Basketball and Baseball teams. Upon graduation, Andy would return to coach at Thomas Jefferson Classical Academy where he and Aaron initially met.

Andy has always been drawn to the entertainment industry. His initial passion was music. While Andy was attending Western Carolina University for Business Management, he established a relationship with a country music band and assumed the role of their Marketing and Management. As the band grew, Andy would reach out to Aaron as their career paths aligned. Aaron would often give Andy tips and strategies regarding film and marketing. It didn’t take long before Andy realized his true passion was in creating content and developing strategy for his content. From that point forward Andy welcomed any opportunity to be on set or behind a camera. From Photography to Film, Andy loves the process of telling stories. “There is nothing like taking non-chronological moments and compiling a cinematic sequence that forces your brain to think or feel a certain way, building suspense or excitement. There’s nothing like it.”
